In response to the growing atrocities, the government enlisted the shadowy Wagner Group, a Russian private security company with links to the Kremlin. Russian officials, in turn, stress the Russian presence is there with UN backing.”

I wanted to look for connections between Nelson Mandela and Sol Kerzner, and the information I found was really interesting.

It was a special occasion and one that cemented Kerzner’s close relationship with the iconic world statesman who said of Sol: “He makes a difference everywhere he goes. Sol, thank you for changing our World!”

Theirs was a genuine friendship that would endure until Mandela’s own passing in 2013.

In 1994, Kerzner made his first major acquisition outside Africa — The Paradise Island Resort in The Bahamas. Nelson Mandela visited The Bahamas in 1994.” What is further interesting is the inscription below the photo which states, “In this picture published on January 5, 1994, African National Congress President Nelson Mandela visited Resorts International’s Paradise Island and lunched with Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham. Shown L to R: Barry Farrington VP Resorts International, Nelson Mandela, Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham MP and Michael Williams VP Resorts International.” (Sol Kerzner bought Paradise Island that same year)

It may be worth taking a deeper look at Sol Kerzner’s resorts/properties.
