Muh bad, thanks.
Interdasting. I am in rural wooded area near an old railroad line that they've been talking about re-opening for years. State DOT has done all the environmental studies, etc. Reportedly, problem is need federal dollars to refurbish beds to for commuter lines. Also have power company right-of-way going across top steep portion of muh land. Do I keep or do I sell. And if sell, when?
Meant to say: easement, not right-of-way. Though in truth IDK difference.
Got you and yours covered, Anon. All will be well.
>Unless you’ve a compelling need for cash, never sell or at least never sell quickly.
No need for cash at , praise be to God. But it is A LOT of work to maintain the land. And I am getting old. Thinking I might have 8-10 more years at best before it becomes too much. Would like to just die here and leave the property to muh kids, On the other hand, if there is a huge project destined to come through and over which I have no control. I am thinking sell for the biggest buck, buy a smaller place and set my kids up with a pre-death inheritance. Current thinking is such projects would increase property value; in particular passenger train connecting major cities one to another. Probably end up being freight too, though. Property also sits on shale bed.
