Been digging a bit about who died in the Hindenberg 'accident'. Maybe this is old news but I figured I share. I just quickly went through the victims list (only the passengers list) and found a few that stuck out and made notes about the articles. Sauce - https://facesofthehindenburg.blogspot.com/
Colonel Fritz Erdmann, Luftwaffe Colonel - Officially aboard as an observer, some said he was there to stop a sabateur, disputed. Worth a read. Interesting passage…
"Fellow passenger Gertrud Adelt later recalled that Erdmann seemed none too happy to be making the flight. Just before takeoff in Frankfurt on May 3rd, Colonel Erdmann had his wife Dorothea paged and escorted onto the ship by a steward for one final goodbye. Mrs. Adelt's husband Leonhard, a veteran of several airship flights, quietly noted to his wife that he had never seen a guest brought onboard the ship this close to takeoff. Frau Erdmann appeared in the doorway of the passenger area and according to Gertrud Adelt she and Colonel Erdmann silently embraced for a minute or more. Frau Erdmann then left the ship without a word."
Birger Brinck, Aviation Journalist - Was headed to interview the governor of Pennsylvania for the tercentennial anniversary of the first landing of the Swedes in America. Last seen leaving the lounge to get a camera from his cabin minutes before the explosion/fire.
Mr. and Mrs. Adelt, Journalists - Mrs. Adelt had her press card suspended by Nazi government.
The Doehner Family - Father managed a German wholesale pharma company HQ in Mexico.
