I noticed something in the Our Movement speech from 10/13/16: Trump speaks in the PAST tense here:
"I knew this day would arrive. And I knew the American people would rise above it and vote for the future they deserve."
The word "would" in the English language is used in one of these ways:
-To talk about the past:
>"I knew you would vote for Trump."
-To talk about something that has occurred in the past, but had not yet happened at the time we are talking about:
>"In college, she met the man that she would one day marry."
-To talk about hypotheses or conditionals
>"It would be very expensive to stay in that hotel."
>"I would help you but I'm busy."
-Requests
>"Would you help me lift this box?"
His sentence structure indicates past tense…like he had seen it come to pass already.
