you know, anon, maybe there is a Sundial at the White House and things are timed with it?

There must be one there somewhere.

interesting topic. I know that Nancy Reagan was big into that type of stuff.

People use the stars and planets to measure time, so they don't have to 'believe in astrology' to still use The Sun as their clock, and have a Sun dial.

keep notes, maybe you'll figure something out.

the next question: is there a sundial at teh White House. I would suppose 'yes'.

anyone know for sure?

if the Washington Monument's shadow were used to say 'here is when the sun is highest' then, at the White house, perhaps people use that as a way to time what they do. Why not?

the other anon said 12:21 , not 12/21 but you know that.

also, the White House is oriented in such a way that The president could watch the sun as it rolls along the floor and the moldings in the Oval Office, as it shines through the windows. Perhaps our President uses that to time things? who knows. Ah, that would be something that people who spent time in the room would understand. But rmemeber how the White house is oriented. The 'South Lawn' is directly in front of the Oval Office, which faces south. But it is an oval, so the windows are not all facing south. Being in that room with the sun light shining in one would know the time of day rapidly based upon how the shadows are on things in the room. High Noon would perhaps have an 'event' due to the way things are configured with the windows and the moldings.
