Police ban Yellow Vests demonstration in Paris set for Saturday

French police on Friday banned an anti-government Yellow Vests’ demonstration planned for this weekend in central Paris.

Police said in a statement that the planned demonstration could lead to trouble in the streets, with demonstrators planning to march near public institutions and tourist and shopping areas, according to Reuters.

Since the Yellow Vests movement began in November 2018, demonstrations have frequently erupted into violence and clashes with riot police.

The scale of the protests has diminished since the worst of the troubles seen in December 2018, but demonstrators have continued to gather on Saturdays to protest against President Emmanuel Macron’s government, whose policies they say favor the richest members of society.

Edward Snowden Wants to be Allowed ‘Few More Years’ in Russia – Lawyer

The NSA whistleblower’s three-year residency permit expires in April, and he is wanted in his native United States on espionage charges for exposing digital mass surveillance efforts by the US government.

Edward Snowden is not going to leave Russia, where he has been living for almost seven years since fleeing the United States, his representative Anatoly Kucherena has said.

“At Edward’s request, I am preparing the documents for the [Russian] Federal Migration Service to extend his residency permit,” Kucherena stated on Friday, adding that he would apply for “a few more years" of residency.

Snowden was granted temporary asylum in Russia in 2013, shortly after he fled the United States, where he worked for the Central Intelligence Agency before becoming an “infrastructure analyst” at the National Security Agency.

Hungary, Brazil reject Global Migration Compact as basis for reference

Hungary and Brazil work closely together in the United Nations in order to ensure that the the organisation cannot use components of its Global Compact for Migration, which Hungary’s government rejected earlier, as a basis for reference in international legislation, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said after meeting Brazilian counterpart Ernesto Araujo on Thursday.

UN organisations have been “caught” several times as they tried to get various resolutions approved which incorporated parts of the compact, he said.

Transparency: Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Publication of new MPC handbook and minutes increases RBNZ’s openness

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is known for punching well above its weight in the central banking world. Some 30 years ago, it was the first central bank to adopt an inflation targeting regime, starting a trend that was followed by institutions in many of the world’s largest economies.

But the RBNZ was different from some of its peers, in that it did not have external members sitting on its rate-setting committee. That changed in April 2019, when three external members joined a newly formed monetary policy committee (MPC). This modification came as part of a series of wide-ranging reforms, including a move to a dual mandate and a wide range of structural changes, all pushed through by a newly elected coalition government

JRL NEWSWATCH: “What do Putin’s constitutional changes mean for Russian nuclear launch authority?” – Federation of American Scientists/ Matt Korda

“… This shift in power [under the new system proposed by Putin] … poses a series of complications for Russia’s system of nuclear launch authority. Under Article 87.1 of the Russian Constitution, the President is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces … the Law On Defence states that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief is the ultimate authority on all nuclear-related matter. … [T]he current Russian military doctrine states that ‘The decision to use nuclear weapons shall be taken by the President of the Russian Federation.’ … [T]he President possesses a Cheget briefcase … to monitor strategic crises and transmit nuclear command decisions through the Kazbek command and control network, using the Kavkaz special communications system. … it is widely believed that both the Defense Minister and the Chief of the General Staff also possess Cheget briefcases, although ultimate launch authority rests with the President. … The situation in Russia is shifting quite rapidly, and absent more details about how Putin intends to define the balance of power after 2024, one can only speculate as to how nuclear launch authority will develop under these new constitutional changes. …”

Dear President Trump, Please Don’t Forget Those Pro-Trump Publishers that Got Hammered and Decimated after You Won Your Historic Election

President Trump took a victory lap today after years of harassment and abuse from the deep state and crooked Democrat Party.

President Trump did not hold back.

He deserved this day.

Thank God for his grace justice!

President Trump has faced more challenges and resistance than any other president in US history.

And not only did he prevail — he excelled.

Superman.

Today during his acquittal celebration President Trump thanked his family who have stood by him since day one.

As Trump said during his talk today his family and supporters went through hell since his victory.

So have his online supporters.

In August Facebook removed a Women for Trump ad on Monday saying the ad violated Facebook policy.

According to Facebook and Gizmodo: “A Facebook spokesperson told Gizmodo that the ad violated a section of its policies that prohibits “content that asserts or implies personal attributes,” including “direct or indirect assertions or implications” about traits such as race, ethnicity, gender and sexual identity, religion, or financial standing.”

This follows reports in April 2019 that Facebook removed “hundreds” of Trump 2020 ads they say were in violation of policy.

In March 2018 Trump 2020 Campaign Manager warned Facebook to keep the playing field level.

Hey @facebook @Twitter @Google we are watching. 👀 This is your opportunity to make sure the playing field is level. #MAGA

23andMe Is Terrifying, but Not for the Reasons the FDA Thinks

The genetic-testing company's real goal is to hoard your personal data

By Charles Seife on November 27, 2013

Everything seemed rosy until, in what a veteran Forbes reporter calls “the single dumbest regulatory strategy [he had] seen in 13 years of covering the Food and Drug Administration,” 23andMe changed its strategy. It apparently blew through its FDA deadlines, effectively annulling the clearance process, and abruptly cut off contact with the agency in May. Adding insult to injury the company started an aggressive advertising campaign (“Know more about your health!”), leaving little doubt about the underlying medical purpose of 23andMe’s Personal Genome Service. This left the agency with little alternative but to take action. “As part of our interactions with you, including more than 14 face-to-face and teleconference meetings, hundreds of email exchanges, and dozens of written communications,” the agency complained, “we provided you with… statistical advice, and discussed potential risk mitigation strategies.” It is the tone of a spurned spouse, exasperated and angry that 23andMe is putting no effort into salvaging their relationship.

But as the FDA frets about the accuracy of 23andMe’s tests, it is missing their true function, and consequently the agency has no clue about the real dangers they pose. The Personal Genome Service isn’t primarily intended to be a medical device. It is a mechanism meant to be a front end for a massive information-gathering operation against an unwitting public.

Sound paranoid? Consider the case of Google. (One of the founders of 23andMe, Anne Wojcicki, is presently married to Sergei Brin, the founder of Google.) When it first launched, Google billed itself as a faithful servant of the consumer, a company devoted only to building the best tool to help us satisfy our cravings for information on the web. And Google’s search engine did just that. But as we now know, the fundamental purpose of the company wasn’t to help us search, but to hoard information. Every search query entered into its computers is stored indefinitely. Joined with information gleaned from cookies that Google plants in our browsers, along with personally identifiable data that dribbles from our computer hardware and from our networks, and with the amazing volumes of information that we always seem willing to share with perfect strangers—even corporate ones—that data store has become Google’s real asset By parceling out that information to help advertisers target you, with or without your consent, Google makes more than $10 billion every quarter

Lets do a little math here…How much per Vote….KEKEK

Little Mikey Bloomberg Nets 20 Popular Votes In Iowa After Blowing Through $200 Million

Everyone’s favorite tiny tyrant had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day in Iowa. According to FEC records, Little Mike Bloomberg’s PAC has spent $188 Million dollars as of December 31st. Almost all of the PAC contributions have been from Bloomberg himself.

But all of his money, ad buys, media blitzes, and Super Bowl commercials can’t seem to buy him much actual support, as he comes out of Iowa having garnered just 20 total votes. That’s not the delegates, or the SDEs, or the “second alignment,” it’s 20 votes total from the popular vote, where Bernie and Petey each got in excess of 43,000.

FBI says China ‘biggest threat’ to US law enforcement as arrests skyrocket in 2020

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has already arrested nearly 80 percent of the total number of arrests it made in China-related cases this year as it did in all of 2019, officials said Thursday, identifying the Asian superpower as the biggest law enforcement threat to the U.S.

FBI counterintelligence chief John Brown told a conference at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington that the bureau had already arrested 19 people in cases in which the Chinese government was involved in the first 37 days of 2020, compared to 24 in all of last year and 15 five years earlier.

“We believe that no country poses a greater threat than Communist China,” Brown said.

“Today investigations related to China make up a greater percentage of our counterintelligence workload than at any other time in the FBI’s history.”

The plane was operated by Yute Air, a carrier based in Bethel, Alaska, the hub community in the remote region, the troopers said.

US Kills Top Terrorist, Leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula: Trump

Updated: February 7, 2020

President Donald Trump confirmed on Feb. 6 that U.S. forces have killed Qassim al-Rimi, leader of the extremist Islamist group al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). Al-Rimi claimed responsibility for December’s tragic shooting at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida that left three people dead.

Al-Rimi was killed in a counterterrorism operation in Yemen, Trump confirmed in a statement on Thursday evening, without elaborating on the date of his death.

“At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, the United States conducted a counterterrorism operation in Yemen that successfully eliminated Qassim al-Rimi, a founder and the leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) and a deputy to al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri,” a statement from the White House read.

Al-Rimi joined al-Qaeda in the 1990s, working in Afghanistan for Osama bin Laden.
