Meme bread & meme archive have been updated.

February 2020 folder has 755 images = 180 MB

All tagged with human-readable and machine-searchable filenames.

An anon asked why more memes aren't named is a way that is searchable. Well if MF touched the meme as creator, harvester, or reposter (from General to memes bread), it has gotten classified and named with searchable words in the name. If random memefags posted it, they have named it however they wished and there's nothing MF can do to change that, except promote awareness.

The reason I don't put spaces in filenames is so that the maximum number of characters can be seen when the meme is posted within 8kun's HTML pages. I generally separate words by capitalizing each one instead of using spaces or underscores or dashes. Idiosyncratic? Over 60,000 images tagged this way. Key words are typcally nouns or verbs. Words like 'of', 'and' 'the' 'is' etc. are omitted since they don't aid in searching for a topic. Number suffixes are added to make file names unique.

Typical keyword strings are people's surnames (if people are the subject of the meme). Example of other keywords in February's harvest:

Dem

Ukraine

Schiff

Rogers

Antifa

Barr

Ciaramella

Bat soup

Bernie

Best is yet to come

Bernie

Biden

BillGates

Vaccine

Pharma

Bloomberg

Butti

Chandler

Chess

Corona

Pelosi (no I don't tag her simply 'Nancy' as many anons do)

DJT

Trump

POTUS

Warren

QCrumbs

Epstein

Fake News

GA- (the anon made so many of these – and they are very nice – I decided not to change it to Great Awakening, the tag we used previously so many times)

Flag

Flynn

Garrison

Gitmo

Gina

Graham

Grassley

Weinstein (no I don't tag these 'harvey')

Hillary

Impeachment

Iowa Caucus

Durham

Kerry

Congress

Romney

Nadler

Muslim

Obama

Pedo

etc etc etc.

Hope this helps anons quickly locate the meme ammo they need.

P.S. The reason for choosing to tag memes with

>human-readable and machine-searchable filenames

is to avoid dependencies on any particular platform, file system, database, or application.

Anyone who wants to search memes by topic on the mega libraries can use mega's search function to filter the memes.

If you want to search meme filenames within General or Memes bread, your browser's search function (CTRL F for some) will do that.

If you want to download all or part of the meme collection, you can use your platform's file manager to search within filenames to pick out memes by topic.

On my platform I can search filenames across multiple folders, for one or multiple text strings, to pull out topical memes. I do this all the time, as most anons have noticed.

For example searching all 2019-2020 meme folders for the string

constitution

results in pic 1. To narrow that search I can type

constitution obama

and locate all the memes containing both strings in their filename, pic 2.

Anons should do what is comfy on their platform/device. The examples illustrate what is comfy for me.

I named the screencaps Pic1 and Pic2 to illustrate that you can see the OP's filename when they post an image, and you can download the image by right-clicking on that filename and selecting,

Download Link (rather than download image). That's the easy way, if you intend to preserve the OP's filename.
