Q3836

What advanced weapons did POTUS send to Ukraine?

    • *

MilitaryAnons which of the items in the list below would qualify as "advanced weapons"? My own guesstimate is highlighted in the red text in the Pic.

And, MilitaryAnons, would it be a correct assumption that interoperability with NATO is key to deployment of most, if not all, of such weapons given the necessity of top-notch training and reliable supply of parts/material support?

Define "interoperability".

TY

AN/TPQ anti-fires radar systems, Javelin missiles (210 missiles and 37 launchers), sniper rifles, rocket-propelled grenade launchers, counter-artillery radars, electronic warfare detection and secure communications, night vision, military medical treatment, counter-sniper equipment (Model M107A1 Sniper Systems), Humvees, tactical drones.

Advisers and training to boost Ukraine’s NATO interoperability: English language labs, medical equipment and improvised bomb simulators. The funds could also pay for spare parts, sustainment and training for previously purchased U.S. gear.

Anti-armor weapon systems, mortars, crew-served weapons and ammunition, grenade launchers and ammunition, and small arms and ammunition ― but also unspecified “cyber” and “electronic warfare” capabilities.

Air defense and coastal defense radars; naval mine and counter-mine capabilities; and littoral-zone and coastal defense vessels (two 110-foot coast guard cutters). Also equipment training to counter waterborne threats. Maritime advisers, parts and training to build electronic signals intelligence, naval special warfare capabilities, and anti-submarine warfare capabilities (towed-array sonars, lightweight torpedoes and sonobuoys). Maritime rapid response capabilities (small boats, communication, safety equipment and training simulators).

Sauces (Anons please help dig moar direct sauces):

The Javelin missiles would be a prominent example of 1) advanced weapons and 2) reliance on NATO interoperability for effective deployment.

Would it be correct to say that NATO (i.e. USA) has gained, is gaining, valuable knowledge/ experience in the engagement against RUS military on the war front in east UKR?

At times it seems like a race, but thoroughness means re-reads, re-re-views, returning to archives with after thoughts, second thoughts, alightments.
