Revealed: FBI Had Multiple Informants on Trump Campaign

The FBI team investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election cultivated and maintained numerous sources close to Donald Trump during the election and the transition period when Trump was entering the White House. The FBI sources include one person who was in direct contact with Trump and who was utilized by one FBI agent to, “obtain insight into the incoming Trump administration.” Another source was described as voluntarily providing the FBI team probing Trump with large volumes of documents. Yet another FBI source held a position in the Trump campaign and another was described as a Trump “supporter.” Another source was documented as attending a private gathering with Trump. These disclosures and others were made inside the Justice Department’s previously released 476-page Inspector General report on the FBI’s Russia collusion investigation, known as Crossfire Hurricane.

Some of the generalities of the use of these sources were outlined in the executive summary at the opening of the IG report. The executive summary, however, states, “We found no evidence that the FBI placed any CHSs or UCEs within the Trump campaign or tasked any CHSs or UCEs to report on the Trump campaign.” Both the summary itself and the larger section on the use of CHS’s deep inside the report detail a more complicated picture. While the FBI may not have officially tasked sources to report on the Trump campaign, it did accept information from sources who volunteered to provide the details, the IG report relates. Also an FBI agent contacted a source to “obtain insight” into the incoming Trump administration and another source provided information on Trump campaign officials. Another source was documented as being scheduled to obtain a briefing with Trump and it wasn’t clear whether that source reported back with any information. The section of the report about the sources has not received significant news media attention. The largely overlooked revelations raise major questions about the longstanding claim that the FBI did not spy on the Trump campaign, showing the extent to which the agency run by James Comey maintained a bevy of informants within Trump’ orbit. This in addition to obtaining successive warrants to spy on Carter Page, the energy consultant who temporarily served as a tangential Trump campaign adviser.

A section on page 336 of the extensive report reveals the IG’s team learned during its review that the FBI maintained Confidential Human Sources (CHS’s) who had “either a connection to candidate Trump or a role in the Trump campaign.” CHS’s are utilized by the FBI to gather information on a target. One source was described as holding a position that was redacted from the public version of the report and another source was documented whose details were also redacted. One of these sources surrounding Trump is described as voluntarily bringing the FBI vast sums of information and documentation that the source was not officially tasked with providing. The Handling Agent for that source, described in this article as Source #1, told the IG that this source regularly provides “a ton of information on all sorts of things” to the FBI without being tasked to do so. Source #1 also brings “reams of information” to into meetings with the handling agent.

Project Veritas: Twitter Suspended James O’Keefe to ‘Prevent the Next Trump Situation’

Twitter locked the account of investigative journalist James O’Keefe last month, after he and Project Veritas released undercover footage showing Bernie Sanders staffers praising Stalin’s gulags and promising that “cities will burn” if Donald Trump is re-elected. According to Project Veritas, “Twitter’s end game is likely similar to that of their Silicon Valley friend Google; in the words of Google’s Head of Innovation Jen Gennai ‘Prevent the next Trump situation.’” Twitter claims it locked O’Keefe’s account because of “privacy violations,” after O’Keefe posted a publicly available FEC paystub of one of the Sanders staffers who praised violence and gulags.

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe blasted Twitter for suggesting his tweet violated anyone’s privacy. “At Project Veritas we respect the rights of privacy,” said O’Keefe in a statement to Breitbart News. “Professional codes of ethics instruct journalists to minimize harm to the public, requiring an “overriding” public interest to invade someone’s privacy.” “In the case of our recent Twitter suspension, Twitter said we had violated their rules for ‘posting private information.’ But the information we published was a screen shot from a U.S Government website, certainly not private. But even if it was private, the information did met the threshold of ‘overriding’ public interest.”

Bernie 2020 Staffer Kyle Jurek was recorded by Project Veritas saying things such as: “Fucking cities will burn if Trump is re-elected.” “There’s a reason Joseph Stalin had Gulags, right? And actually, Gulags are a lot better than what the CIA has told us they were…” “The cops are gonna be the ones that are getting fcking beaten in Milwaukee. They’re gonna call up the National Guard for that sht. I promise you that.” “I’m ready to throw down now. I don’t want to wait and have to wait for fucking DNC…The billionaire class. The fucking media, pundits. Walk into that MSNBC studios, drag those motherfuckers out by their hair and light them on fire in the streets.” “The only thing that fascists understand is violence. So, the only way you can confront them is with violence.”

“The information posted was not private; it is publicly available and found easily on the FEC website (found here).,” said a spokesman for Project Veritas. “In correcting the false reporting of Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel who had claimed that subjects featured in our recent #Expose2020 series were Bernie ‘volunteers,’ we replied to him by posting the FEC paystub of Kyle Jurek. Within minutes Weigel was forced to retract his false tweet.” “Twitter suspended the account for what one can only assume are political reasons, they are worried about the effectiveness of our mission here at Project Veritas,” continued the spokesman. “Even their new policies seem to reflect an attack on what we do, and open up the possibility of permanent suspension.”

“Twitter would never do this to the NYT, WaPO or CNN. In fact CNN regularly targets people at their homes.” “Twitter’s end game is likely similar to that of their Silicon Valley friend Google; in the words of Google’s Head of Innovation Jen Gennai ‘Prevent the next Trump situation.’” “Social media censorship is absolutely getting worse by the day and it will seemingly only continue on these major platforms until real replacements begin to take significant market share.”

This is not the first time Twitter has targeted Project Veritas in the wake of its investigative reporting. The organization’s account was briefly suspended last year after its publication of internal documents from the imagesharing website Pinterest that revealed a blacklist against conservative content. Twitter has also blocked Project Veritas from running ads aimed at recruiting new journalists. In a comment to Breitbart News, Twitter confirmed that they temporarily locked O’Keefe’s account for “violating our private information policy.”

Probably time for some new energy there. He's had his chance things aren't looking much better than they did before. Unless this is part of the plan, just not understanding why yet.

Coronavirus Live Updates: Singapore Lifts Virus Alert to SARS Level

Roughly two dozen countries around the world have taken precautionary measures to stem the spread of the new coronavirus as the death toll continues to rise. Reports are emerging from China suggesting that many more people the country are dying of the disease than officially reported. Scientists continue to probe the origin of the virus.

Panic in Singapore After Virus Alert Increased

Singapore on Friday raised its coronavirus alert level to orange—a level reached during the 2003 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak and the 2009 H1N1 influenza, which indicates the virus is severe and passes easily between persons. The country’s infected tally hit 33, with more cases not linked to previous infections or travel to China, a move that sparked panic-buying of essentials in some shops across the island. With the disease reviving memories of SARS, which killed more than 30 people in Singapore and hundreds worldwide, shoppers started clearing shelves of toilet paper, noodles and rice and formed long queues in supermarkets across the island on Friday evening, videos posted on social media showed.

“I understand that people are concerned after the announcement this afternoon. However, we must … not hoard items unnecessarily. This will create undue panic and is unhelpful to the situation at hand,” trade minister Chan Chun Sing said in a Facebook post about the panic buying. Singapore’s highest alert level is red, which, if enacted, would indicate the virus is spreading widely and can result in significant disruption, such as closing schools. As there are now a few local cases without any links to previous cases or travel history to China, we have stepped up our risk assessment,” the health ministry said, announcing the new orange alert level on Friday. It also said firms should be prepared for “widespread community transmission” and advised that non-essential large-scale events should be deferred or canceled.
