Anything around 583 would be the same normal rate of NYC

But Wuhan is a filthy city due to spitting, blowing noses and open sewers. So I wouldn't worry with even 1500 deaths every day.

Also, note the filth

Even if the virus gets into a modern city with clean habits, it will never kill as many as in Wuhan.

This is like the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918, a time when American cities had open sewers and people spitting and blowing snot everywhere in public.

The lesson is that cleanliness saves lives.

The virus is already evolving into a weaker form.

The only reason there are quarantines in North America is to give everyone practice just in case a real emergency comes along in the next decade or so. We will have more people who are experienced.
