The Lord’s Prayer Marker Q Post 307

US Marines tweet “Let’s Roll” from Ship 93 USSSomerset

Todd Beamer said ‘Let’s Roll’ from flight 93 which crashed in Somerset, Pennsylvania on 911 on its way to the US Capitol

Q Post 307 re The Lord’s Prayer Marker

Todd prayed The Lords Prayer and Psalm 23 before they stormed the cockpit.

Q Post 69 Psalm 23 “… All share one title in common and that is the title of ‘Hero’.”

Todd was considered a ‘HERO’ for storming the cockpit with other passengers and crew and attempting to regain control of the plane before it could get to its destination of the US Capitol.

'Let's roll…'

Last words heard from hero Todd Beamer, aboard the hijacked and doomed United Airlines Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco on 9/11.

They have become America's favourite, bittersweet and articulate bumper sticker. They were used by President Bush to dispatch his bombers to the mountains and deserts of Afghanistan - but they resonate further than that. For they are also the words that closed a remarkable conversation on 11 September between a man called Todd Beamer and Lisa Jefferson, a telephone switchboard operator. The words are: 'Let's Roll'.

Beamer, who didn't want to worry his pregnant wife, had called GTC, the company that provides the telephone service on United Airlines flights. He and Jefferson talked for 13 minutes, during which they recited together the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23 - 'Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.'

Primacy of Peter KeyStone

Peter was the ‘Rock of the Church’ (rock is a stone)

Jesus gave Peter the ‘Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven’

The primacy of Peter, also known as Petrine primacy (from Latin: Petrus, "Peter"), is the position of preeminence that is attributed to Saint Peter among the Twelve Apostles.

It is to be distinguished from but forms the basis of the primacy of the Bishop of Rome, also known as papal primacy or Roman primacy.

The reasons for disagreement on the nature of the primacy are complex, hinging on matters of doctrine, history and politics, the debate is often reduced to a discussion of the meaning and translation of Matthew 16:18 "And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

Matthew 16:18, Douay-Rheims Bible

Jesus also said to Peter in verse 19, "I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven." Especially for the Hebrew people, keys were a symbol of authority. Indeed, Jesus declares in the Book of Revelation, that He has the "keys of death and hell," which means that He has power over death and hell; Isaiah 22:21-22 also supports this.

Simon Peter holds the first place in the college of the Twelve; Jesus entrusted a unique mission to him. Through a revelation from the Father, Peter had confessed: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Our Lord then declared to him: "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it." Christ, the living Stone, thus assures his Church, built on Peter, of victory over the powers of death. Because of the faith he confessed Peter will remain the unshakable rock of the Church. His mission will be to keep this faith from every lapse and to strengthen his brothers in it.
