Gordon County authorities have confirmed that a Cessna Citation has crashed in Fairmount.

The airplane took off from the Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field in Peachtree City just before 10 am Saturday morning.

Reports added that multiple fatalities have been confirmed.

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE (3:00 p.m.):

The Gordon Gazette reports that Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston has announced that the wreckage of the plane has been located in "a very remote, treacherous to reach area of Eastern Gordon County."

The station cites the FAA in saying the jet disappeared from the radar a few minutes after 10 a.m.

The jet departed from Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field in Peachtree City, shortly before 10 a.m.

Right now, we still don't know how many people were aboard the plane, where exactly the plane went down in Gordon County, or if the incident was caused by weather.
