Someone decided the other one was moldy, for some reason, and started this one.

Nah. I pinged 8kun.top when it first starting having problems. And I got 75% packet loss with several of the failed pings coming back with error messages about the host being unreachable or TTL timeouts. It was clearly a networking issue outside of their data center. So it was more sophisticated than a simple dumb DDOS clobbering of a domain name. I think they target some of the routers just outside.

The tarmac case should be open-and-shut. And because it disconnected from the larger cloud of investigations there should be no entanglements with grand-juries.
