Two US soldiers were killed and six others wounded in Afghanistan in a so-called insider attack by a local soldier firing a machine gun, military officials said Sunday.

The Afghan soldier in full military uniform had argued with the US troops before launching his deadly attack in eastern Afghanistan’s province late Saturday, officials said.

Scams spread faster than the Wuhan coronavirus

Attempts to scam the public using fears of the Wuhan coronavirus are growing much faster than the number of confirmed disease cases.

An official at the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) confirmed Friday that the number of “smishing” and financial scam cases more than doubled in the past five days.

“As of Thursday midnight, there were 470 cases of smishing texts with fake website links that claim to provide information on the epidemic,” said an official from the KCC in a phone interview with the Korea JoongAng Daily. “We also had 19,200 reported cases of spam messages trying to fool people into buying stocks supposedly related to the virus.”

QAnon' conspiracy theory creeps into mainstream politics

MILWAUKEE (AP) — President Donald Trump was more than halfway through his speech at a rally in Milwaukee when one of his hand gestures caught the eye of a supporter standing in the packed arena.

The 51-year-old woman believed the president had traced the shape of the letter “Q” with his fingers as a covert signal to followers of QAnon, a right-wing, pro-Trump conspiracy theory. She turned to the couple on her right and excitedly asked, “Did you see the ‘Q’?”

“He just did it?” asked Diane Jacobson, 63, of Racine, Wisconsin.
