The NSC is just a bunch of wanna-be spies with graduate degrees and chips on their shoulders, and they're yet another reason bloated government staffing is overloading the ship of state. They're unnecessary.
I would urge POTUS to decentralize the NSC and many more federal departments out of Washington and around the nation, onto property already owned by the federal government. All those mothballed military installations could be just a start.
Remember learning about the Industrial Age in school, and what a turning point it was?
Kids, we are living through a Silent War which has been largely propelled by the Information Age.
Most of the crimes we've seen would have gone unnoticed as recently as a decade ago.
The Information Age has not only made US the news, it's given us the priceless gift of being able to become active, involved citizens.
We can dig on every local and state candidate we see, and share what we find.
If "social media" could become something truly useful, we could stop many crimes and frauds before they even start.
Through this very site, we have become skilled diggers, and we can become useful teachers as well.
We don't have to be physically able, young, good-looking or outgoing to participate anymore.
This is about our MINDS and our motivation.
