I've been ignoring muh own image guidelines freely. Since I don't have a twitter account I can't test the images to see what habbens. That was generic web guidance. I figure anything over 1200 pix or 1600 px is oversized. If you have a twitter account feel free to run some tests and figure out how twitter resizes and/or truncates images.
A square shape works better on 8kun and on Facebook and Instagram.
I got tired of making memes limited to a 2:1 shape and just said fuck it and I make memes of all shapes lately.
But it the source image is very very large, I'll shrink it to 1200 x ? pixels before applying text.
Posters with tons of tiny text or complicated diagrams can be huge because they won't be readable if too small.
Just use common sense, fam. Don't panic or rework if your images are not exactly 1200 x 627.
