Here’s a Firefox extension with which you can load an entire – imageless - bread fast. Super easy to use. Toggle it with a click on its icon. You can view images you choose in another tab with the normal click.

Options/General at top of bread, you can choose to HIDE images, but they will still load in the background …and some won’t even get hid. Nor is it as convenient, and of course works only here.
