Anon, if you are ever at Harvard make sure to go to the colonial graveyard near the church (Unitarian Universalists) . right across the street from Harvard Yard (On Massachusetts Avenue).

Read the gravestones. Many of the people who died under the command of George Washington were from New Hampshire.

 

Did you know that Washington camped at Harvard for a while with his army?

 

and after the Hessiens surrendered they were allowed to keep their rifles and live at Prospect Hill in Waltham as prisoners of war. It was considered to be a death sentence to them if they didn't have the rifles to hunt with, and protect themselves from bandits.
