Catholic Priest Claims Voting Pro-Choice Is Worse Than Raping Children

Callous cruelty: Minimizing the rape and sexual abuse of children, a Catholic priest in Rhode Island claims voting pro-choice is much worse that raping children because “pedophilia doesn’t kill anyone.”

A priest in Rhode Island has defended his decision to ban all lawmakers who voted in favor enshrining abortion protections under state law from receiving communion at his parish.

In yet another display of the profound moral failure and callous cruelty that permeates the leadership of the Catholic church, Father Richard Bucci of Rhode Island defended his decision to to ban all pro-choice lawmakers from receiving communion by minimizing the devastating consequences of Catholic clergy raping children.

Trying to justify his decision to deny pro-choice Catholic lawmakers communion as well as the ability to act as witnesses to marriage, godparents, or lectors at weddings, funerals or any other church functions, Father Bucci of Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick said:

We are not talking about any other moral issue, where some may make it a comparison between pedophilia and abortion. Pedophilia doesn’t kill anyone, and this does.

Father Bucci added:

Now, I don’t know what else I have to say about it, this is the teaching of the church. The Canon Law of the church, the Second Vatican Council, and the First Catechism of the church. I don’t know what more evidence I should have to present.

For the record, pedophilia is not a harmless activity, and often the victims of pedophile priests are driven to suicide.

Human Trafficking is so Bad in America that President Trump Just Created a New Official Position to Stop It

Human trafficking has become so pervasive in America that Donald Trump created an entirely new position to tackle it. The practice has been swept under a rug for far too long in politics, underneath partisan issues like racism, gender equality, and politics-as-usual.

The White House estimates as many as 24.9 million victims of human trafficking around the globe. These unfortunate individuals are typically female and about a quarter of them are children. The top US states for incidents of human trafficking are California, Texas, and Florida, and are many times greater than any other state. It’s not surprising that two of the three are located at the border.

By a new executive order, President Trump signed into law on Friday a new position specifically designed to fight the onslaught of human trafficking that plagues America today. The statute brings various government departments together, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Justice Department, and the Department of Education, to fight human traffickers and prevent the practice from happening in the United States.

“From funding for prevention education programs, to enhanced intelligence-level coordination, to fighting child pornography, to a new full-time position within his White House’s Domestic Policy Council, the president is using all tools at his disposal to ensure that the end of modern-day slavery becomes a reality.” – Ivanka Trump

Democrat and Republican presidents both have a history of fighting human trafficking, but never to the true scale of the problem. Donald Trump is the only president willing to push this issue into the forefront of daily conversation, where it rightfully belongs.

The Trump administration has published multiple reports of their accomplishments in fighting human trafficking. During his time in office, nine human trafficking victims were appointed to an advisory council, January 2018 was declared “National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month”, border security has been drastically improved, and the President signed several executive orders to help fund the prevention human trafficking.

Some critics of Trump argue that increased border security and restrictions on illegal immigration and refugees aids human traffickers by discouraging victims to come forward out of a fear of legal action against them.

But the truth is that human trafficking happens within all avenues of human life. Plenty of otherwise “ordinary” people are involved with human trafficking, but this disgusting practice goes all the way up to the highest levels of government. The most recent example is sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, who took Bill Clinton and many other high-profile politicians to his private island and allegedly soliciting sexual favors from underage girls.

Prebiotics May Help Fight Melanoma by Activating Anti-Tumor Immunity

Scientists at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute have shown that two prebiotics, mucin and inulin, slowed the growth of melanoma in mice by boosting the immune system’s ability to fight cancer. In contrast to probiotics, which are live bacterial strains, prebiotics are “food” for bacteria and stimulate the growth of diverse beneficial populations. The study, published today in Cell Reports, provides further evidence that gut microbes have a role in shaping the immune response to cancer, and supports efforts to target the gut microbiome to enhance the efficacy of cancer therapy.

The research specifically opens new avenues to address important unmet clinical needs in melanoma, as it highlights the possible impact of prebiotics on tumor growth control and therapy resistance.

“Earlier studies have demonstrated that prebiotics limit tumor growth, but until now the mechanism by which they do so has been unclear,” says Ze’ev Ronai, Ph.D., professor in Sanford Burnham Prebys’ Tumor Initiation and Maintenance Program and senior author of the study. “Our study shows for the first time that prebiotics limit cancer growth by enhancing anti-tumor immunity. The study supports further exploration of the potential benefits of prebiotics in treating cancer or augmenting current therapies.”

Ronai cautions that these findings require much more study before considering any evaluation in people with cancer.

“Prebiotics represent a powerful tool to restructure gut microbiomes and identify bacteria that contribute to anti-cancer immunity,” says Scott Peterson, Ph.D., professor in Sanford Burnham Prebys’ Tumor Microenvironment and Cancer Immunology Program and co-corresponding author of the study. “The scientific advances we are making here are getting us closer to the idea of implementing prebiotics in cutting-edge cancer treatments.”

Adds Jennifer Wargo, M.D., associate professor of Surgical Oncology and Genomic Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center,

Immunotherapies and targeted treatments such as MEK inhibitors are helping people with melanoma, but not everyone. While some patients respond to therapy, others do not. In addition, many patients develop resistance to treatment which requires alternate medicine combinations. Manipulating the microbiome with prebiotics might be a helpful addition to current treatment regimens, and today’s finding should be further tested in independent models and systems.

In the study, the scientists set out to identify specific prebiotics that promote the growth of good bacteria and activate anti-tumor immunity. Based on previous studies conducted in a lab dish, they homed in on mucin, a protein that is part of the mucus found in our intestine and other tissues; and inulin, a fiber found in plants such as asparagus and onions.

PM threatens Hamas with dire ‘surprise’; Gaza answers with fresh rocket attack

Israel’s response to wave of rocket, balloon attacks ‘will be different from anything that came before,’ Netanyahu warns in TV interview; no injuries in attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday threatened Hamas leaders with “the surprise of their lives” if a spate of attacks from the Gaza Strip didn’t come to an end. Minutes later, yet another rocket was fired from Gaza at Israel’s south.

“I’m telling you as prime minister, I don’t rush to war,” Netanyahu said in an interview with Channel 20 on Tuesday night. “I don’t puff out my chest, bang drums and blow trumpets. But we’re preparing for Hamas the surprise of their lives. I won’t say what it is, but it will be different from anything that came before.”

Whether Israel carries out its “surprise,” he added, “is entirely up to them. If they don’t come to their senses with the rockets and don’t stop the balloons, it’s only a matter of time before we deploy it. Remember what I’m telling you,” he said.

The last several weeks have seen a marked uptick in rocket and incendiary balloon attacks from the Strip, raising tensions and threatening fragile truce talks.

Shortly after Netanyahu finished speaking, the IDF reported a mortar shell had been fired from Gaza and landed in an open area in Israel’s south. No one was hurt in the attack.

Netanyahu’s was the latest in a series of warnings from Israeli leaders that rocket and incendiary balloon attacks from Gaza would be met with a dramatic military escalation. Thus far Israel has made do with tit-for-tat airstrikes on usually empty Hamas posts.

On Sunday, Netanyahu warned Gazan terror groups that Israel was prepared to take “crushing action.”

“Rod, We’re Proud of You” – Email Shows John Huber Praising Rosenstein Prior to Being Tapped by Sessions to Lead Fake Probe Into Clinton Foundation

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained 382 pages of documents showing former DAG Rod Rosenstein’s communications with US Attorney John Huber, Eric Holder, other senior Obama officials and liberal reporters leading up to his appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.

John Huber, the US Attorney tapped by then-AG Jeff Sessions to probe the FBI’s handling of the Clinton Foundation investigation, praised Rosenstein on the eve of his Mueller appointment.

“Rod, we’re proud of you,” Huber said to Rosenstein in a May 16, 2017 email.

The next day Rosenstein penned a scope memo authorizing Mueller as special counsel to investigate the Trump-Russia hoax.

Rosenstein was also communicating with liberal reporters and senior Obama officials praising him for appointing Mueller, all revealed in a tranche of emails obtained through a FOIA lawsuit.

These documents were obtained in response to a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) lawsuit filed against the U.S. Department of Justice for all records of communications of Rosenstein between May 8 and May 17, 2017 (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:19-cv-00481)).

On May 15, 2017, Public Affairs Specialist Marsha Murphy sends Rosenstein an email with the subject line “Eric Holder just called for you.” The message says: “Please call him.”

On May 16, 2017, U.S. Attorney John Huber wrote to Rosenstein: “Rod, We’re proud of you.” Later that year, Huber was chosen by then-Attorney General Sessions to head up the Clinton Foundation investigation.

(On May 17, 2017, Robert Mueller was appointed by Rosenstein as special counsel.)

The documents revealed that Rosenstein had communications with Washington Post reporter Sari Horwitz that included multiple off-the-record calls, information sharing, and smoothing over arguments with the DOJ press office.

In an email exchange on May 12, 2017, with the subject line “Off the record” Horwitz complains to Rosenstein about then-DOJ spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores yelling at her and the Washington Post’s national security editor and calling a story of theirs “bullshit.” Rosenstein replies, “I will talk to Sarah.” Horwitz adds that she is “around all night if [Rosenstein wants] to talk off the record.”

In an email exchange between May 13-16, 2017, Horwitz requests that they speak off the record again. Rosenstein replied by sending her a link to a story about him in The Baltimore Sun.

An investigation launched into Hillary Clinton in November of 2017 by John Huber, the US Attorney tapped by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions ended last month without criminal charges.

Keep in mind, Huber had the authority to impanel a grand jury, however he did nothing since the day Jeff Sessions appointed him in the Fall of 2017 to ‘review’ Clinton-related matters.
