Marty Torrey is a retired United States Naval Commander. While on active duty he commanded a guided missile frigate USS Clifton Sprague (FFG-16) and a minesweeper USS Exploit (MSO 440) and served aboard 5 other ships over a 20 year career. During his distinguished service, Mr. Torrey was awarded 3 Meritorious Service Medals and 22 other medals and decorations. He served in multiple military operations including the invasion of Grenada
and operations off the coast of Libya and Lebanon, Black Sea, Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Mr. Torrey also served as Flag Secretary to Commander in Chief US Naval Forces Europe in London in the mid 1980s.
In addition to his work with Global Policy Partners, Mr. Torrey is the founder and owner of Captain Consultants, Inc., which he started in 2003. The firm is a bipartisan state and federal government consulting business with operations in Saratoga County, New York City, and Washington, DC.
Mr. Torrey also previously served as the Chief of Staff, District Director, and Campaign Manager to a former New York State congressman. Uniquely, at different times he has served as the Executive Director of both the Republican and Democratic parties in his home county in upstate New York.
Mr. Torrey is a graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is a Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Retired Officers Association .
