Are Smart Meters safe?

I spend 99.9% of my day within 5 feet of my elec meter, due to it's location on my home.

Received notice Smart Meters are being installed in my hood within next few weeks.

The RF emitted may be low, but what about long-term exposure to these so-claimed "low Levels?

SHOULD I OPT out?

I know nothing about this subject, but read that the DNA is damaged, causing cancer at minimum, amoung a sundry of Damaged DNA symptoms.

I don't want to end up a pile of mush from RF from combination Microwave, cell phone, smart meters.
