Not much evidence, but earlier today I took a screenshot on a Mac and did a copy/paste here.

The image showed up in the window below the text box labeled "File", but didn't load.

I then used SnagIt, took a similar screengrab, saved it and then uploaded it as a jpeg with no issues.
