Old joke about a guy who goes to prison. He notices that every now and then one of the prisoners will call out a number, like "seventyfour" and all the other prisoners laugh.
He asks his cellmate about it and is told "We only have one joke book in here, and everybody has memorized it. So if you want to tell a joke, all you need is its number.
Eventually the new guy gets the book, and starts to memorize it. Joke number 87 strikes him as a real knee-slapper, so he calls out "Eightyseven". Nobody laughs. Just silence. Then his cellmate says "Well, some people just can't tell a joke!"

I say to anons: Bible anons MUST study the Bible for themselves. Don't take any other person's word for what it says, or what it means. Read it, even read multiple translations, compare translations if that helps you, read commentaries or sermons if you wish, but pray for knowledge (facts) understanding (what the facts mean), and wisdom (what to DO with your understanding). I don't care how educated they are, Bible college or M.Div. or Ph.D. or Rev. or Fr. or whatever title they may be proud of. Don't let anyone get between you and God's word. I like the ESV and the KJV. Bible resources are online and you can download the entire Bible or search online for a word or a verse or topic. There are lots of freeware Bible apps too.
