Raytheon discloses SEC subpoena related to payments by Thales JV in Middle East
Raytheon has received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission related to an investigation into the possibility of improper payments made for contracts in certain Middle East countries since 2014, the U.S. weapons maker disclosed in a filing.
The investigation relates to payments made by Raytheon or Thales-Raytheon Systems, which is a joint venture between Raytheon and Europe’s largest defense electronics company Thales (TCFP.PA).
Raytheon said it currently does not believe the results of inquiry will have material adverse impact on its results.

Denied at 5 ports, cruise ship finally allowed to dock in Cambodia
A cruise ship that was rejected from docking at five ports over fears of the coronavirus will be allowed to stop in Cambodia, where its passengers can finally disembark, the operators said Wednesday.
Holland America Line said the MS Westerdam has been authorized to dock the ship Thursday in the port of Sihanoukville. “All approvals have been received and we are extremely grateful to the Cambodian authorities for their support,” the cruise line said in a statement. The Westerdam left Singapore last month, then stopped off Feb. 1 in Hong Kong, where 50 cases of the viral disease have been confirmed.
The vessel was then turned away from stopping in Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, the US territory of Guam and, most recently, Thailand — even though there were no confirmed cases among the passengers.
US Ambassador to Cambodia W. Patrick Murphy confirmed that an embassy team was dispatched to work with the ship’s representatives and Cambodian officials to help Americans on board disembark and transfer to other destinations. “We have also coordinated with foreign embassies of other nationalities,” he wrote on Twitter.
