This post brought back well over 4 decades old memory. Oldanon going through divorce, had the 2 kids for the weekend. My mother sent the asst. Pastor of her church to come and save me. Invited him in, sent the kids outside to play and we sat down in the living room.
Things started awkward, he said about 3 or 4 times: mother said this, mother said that. I interrupted him: I don't know your mother I said. It took him for a loop but he recovered quickly (with a little smile). We get to talking. He says something: It was about Jesus came to save everybody.
Anon got up, went to the front door closed and got my Bible. Walking back I saw him stiffen. Sat down, pointed to the Words that the Angel said to Joseph in a dream. He, still being sure of himself, invited me to come to the church library and I can be educated, read many books.
Anon asked: who wrote those books? Answered own question, men. Then pointed out the Words in the Bible that says: let no man add to these words or take away any words. The Pastor stood up, red faced, veins popping out on his neck and said: That Book doesn't belong to you, it belongs to the church and the church should have never allow you to have it as he stormed out.
