I really don't get this. Replace "children of color" with "children who are white" and see what would happen.
We live in a lop sided society.
If you are white, you are supposed to be color blind and color isn't supposed to matter.
If you are not white, your whole world evolves around what color you are.

I was born on the South Side of Chicago in the early 1960s. My family HAD to move to the burbs when I was 7 because of the black gangs that had moved in. I had friends who were black, lots of nice black neighbors, but the violent gangs forced the whites to leave. I believe this was by design. Black gangs were imported into Repub. neighborhoods of the city. The good black people did not like the gangs either. Now, the neighborhood where I lived until the age of 7 is still very high crime.
History books say that whites left bc they were prejudiced and didn't want to live with blacks. That is a lie. The whites didn't want to leave. They were forced to leave.
