First, there was an agricultural society. The tribal leader took his percentage and looked after his people out of self-interest, worked for thousands of years.

Empires and their dictators came and extorted the people. Worked quite well until corrupt, power-greedy leaders brought their own demise.

The industrial revolution came. After years of capitalist exploitation, the people organise, Unions are formed, and socialism arrives. Communism is introduced but later fails as a repressive system except in China and Cuba where repression is working ATM.

The elite organise the Unions and cap it with a new system, Communism, a system that will avoid any people getting so rich as to be a threat to the elite hierarchy. The wealthy elites saw the opportunity and became the ruler-investors of the new emerging industries especially concentrating on oil, communications, pharmaceuticals and energy companies.

The elite already in Government and controlling all Parties to ensure control.
