My dumb ass 'upgraded' to Win10 out of curiosity over DX12.
I have never had to fight so hard for control over my computer in my life. And I had ME at one point. I recently went through and gutted all of the update services I could find in the admin tools and the fucker still reboots daily. Granted, it fails some all-important update every time, which I consider the best fucking feature so far (do you have any idea how many times I had to un-install Candy crush?)
Why any company would choose to put this massive piece of spyware in their organization is beyond me. I cannot recommend a Linux distro enough.
It is constantly sending data back to Microsoft (that I have expressly disabled multiple times and it keeps magically resetting). I have no administrative control, really… And all of the old admin strategies seem rather useless. A system administrator being pushed to Win10 under any company can't guarantee the security of their network. Microsoft has, as far as I can tell, complete back-door access to the system and its kernel functions.
You may as well hand Microsoft your proprietary information free of charge and trust they won't leak, sell, or otherwise damage your company. Because the system admin has virtually no say in what the computers of a company do with that operating system.
As in… If any big-wigs are reading this… You should suspend any and all Windows 10 upgrades/installs and consider doing a complete about-face on OS decisions. I would say ask and trust your IT department… But I know of one that is trying to use Google Hangouts for their tech support and company communications… So… Fire the claptraps before you lean too heavily on your IT guys.
