The govt shutdown is where I stopped trying to talk politics with normies. Here is how a basic convo with a liberal went:
Liberal: This shutdown is on you Trump.
Me: The shutdown has nothing to do with Trump. House and Senate write the budget and when they approve it, they send it to Trump. Trump is waiting on the approved bill.'
Liberal: Reps control the House, Senate and Presidency…no excuses
Me: The House and presidency dont mean a fucking thing. This bill needs 60 votes in the Senate. House and President are irrelevant.
Liberal: Republicans control the House, its Republicans fault.
Me: It takes 60 votes and there are only 51 Republicans. 50 voted for it, McCain sat this one out, so it needs 10 votes from the Democrats
Liberal: Its the Republicans fault
