I'll be surprised if they can actually do it. If the human coronavirus (common cold) is too unstable for a practical vaccine then I have a hard time believing this new virus will be any different. But the good news is that because it can mutate so quickly then less virulent strains can appear quickly. These will spread unchecked and effectively confer partial immunity to its more deadly progenitor.
