from the rejection of Cain's agricultural based offering (compared to Abel's hunter/gatherer) to the tower of Babel, it seems the original message was "city bad" and decentralization was the way to live on the planet but by the time Jesus came around it was already too late as the Romans had roads all over the place
what is it about being a city dweller and being a democrat? at some point the soul was removed, but is it the lifestyle that removes it? or was it removed beforehand and the city became a beacon? probably a bit of each
why use the artificial division tactic when a simple meme will do? Let me ask you, did something magical happen at midnight on January 1, 1965 that all of a sudden Boomers turned into GenXers? One day a hippy singing out-of-tune woodstock war protest songs and all worried about Nam and Nixon (and a democrat, mind you!) and the next day the babies born are now latchkey kids with the divorced mom working, so after school they listen to Nirvana and can't decide whether they want to kill themselves or light up another bowl? (a lot of those kids went Indy in politics, or didn't give a fuck)
it just is not that simple but if you want to live in a box "they" made for you, to each his own
lived the city life-suburbs (chicago, noJers and Philly), did the office thing with the fancy degree for 20 years….i lasted find then woke the fuck up and bought a farm and left the rat race
