I've never used a VPN,

Today I had someone recommend this one; but, when I look at the website I see this list of companies who recommend them. Red flags go off as they are pretty much cabal-companies.

My questions are 1) Do I need a VPN and if yes, 2) which VPNs are relatively good/better?
