I thought I heard something before about some weird cult known as The Family. Started reading about it when I was doing a dig on Q's latest references to the FAMILY.

This cult which is the subject of this 48 Hours TV show, is unrelated to the dig, but apparently the woman who was the leader either stole/kidnapped children, or they were given to her by followers of her in the cult. She basically collected kids. Didn't read deep enough to know if there was sexual abuse, but there was starvation, and other physical abuse perpetrated on these poor kids.I think there were upwards of 28 children, at one point.

A really bizarre story that started in Australia in the 80's. The leader had a messianic complex, and said she was the second coming of Christ. Injected the children with LSD as part of an initiation. Seriously fucked up stuff, that would still be going on today, if a couple of relentless Detectives, one in Australia, and one in New York, hadn't tracked the leader down. Before that, the houses/compounds where the cult lived were raided and the children removed from them. Here's the link-
