It's bowling league night.
We seem to have lost awareness of the value of fasting. It isn't preached in the churches except as a "show" ritual. It isn't taught in the schools and you will not hear the President declare a week of fasting –
but a fast works wonders for the mind, the body and the psyche.
A week of only clean, cool water.
A weekend unplugged.
A few days alone outdoors … or, if that cannot be arranged, a night in a tent in the backyard. Alone. Preferably in the rain.
A day focused on prayers of gratitude and supplication for healing of yourself and, most especially, others.
Ever wonder why God doesn't seem to work through you? Have you even bothered to ask Him?
Choose one a month and marvel at the changes that will come.
