they were getting pushed out of schools, and the united way was threatening to pull funding - which they did anyway even after they knuckled under. Untied way was doing some other fuck up shit as well, but I don't recall specifics atm)
I specifically rember the United Way, as there were these yearly 'voluntary' charity drives where I worked at the time.
they hit me up, I said hell no, then (probably unwisely) explained exactly WHY.
