Emails: Burisma Consultant Linked To Hunter Biden Approached Top State Department Official To Arrange Ukraine Meeting

Newly released State Department emails from 2016 shed light on an effort by a consultant for Burisma Holdings to set up a meeting with a top State Department official regarding Ukraine.

Hunter Biden served with the consultant, Sally Painter, on the board of the Truman National Security Project. Biden reportedly recommended that Burisma hire Painter’s firm, Blue Star Strategies.

Emails show that Painter approached Tony Blinken about Ukraine at a conference for the think tank in June 2016. Blinken is now a top campaign surrogate for Joe Biden.

A Democratic consultant working for Burisma Holdings and connected to Hunter Biden approached Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken at an event for a liberal think tank in June 2016 to arrange a meeting to discuss “troubling events” in Ukraine, State Department emails reveal.

At the time, Sally Painter, a consultant for Blue Star Strategies, was working for Burisma to quash investigations into corruption at the Ukrainian energy company. She was reportedly put in touch with Burisma through Biden, who joined the firm as a director in April 2014.

Biden and Painter shared a connection as directors of the Truman National Security Project, which featured Blinken as a speaker at its annual national security conference June 24, 2016. Painter moderated a panel discussion later in the day entitled “Navigating the Political Appointment Process.”

Painter still serves on the board of the Truman Project. Biden left the organization in March 2019, according to The Washington Free Beacon.

Three days after 2016 event, Painter emailed Blinken’s top aide, William Russo, asking the State Department’s second-in-command to meet with her and her Blue Star partner, Karen Tramontano.

“Per my conversation with Tony at the Truman event, Karen Tramontano and I would like to have a brief coffee with Tony at his earliest convenience regarding some troubling events we are seeing n [sic] Ukraine,” Painter wrote in a June 27, 2016 email to Russo, who serves as director of communications for the Joe Biden presidential campaign.

“(He said yes),” Painter said in her email to Russo of Blinken, who serves as foreign policy advisor to Biden’s campaign.

“We are just back from Kiev,” Painter added.

Painter’s email adds previously unreported details to efforts by Burisma-linked consultants to meet with State Department officials. Other State Department emails show that Tramontano reached out to the agency to discuss Burisma. Hunter Biden also established contact with Blinken in 2015, according to State Department records.

The New York Times reported in 2019 that Hunter Biden connected Burisma with Blue Star Strategies as part of an effort to fight against corruption investigations against the firm.

Third time’s the charm? Soros AGAIN accuses Facebook of helping Trump re-election, demands Zuckerberg & Sandberg exit

Billionaire speculator George Soros has once again called for the de-platforming of Facebook leadership, accusing them of collusion with US President Donald Trump, after CEO Mark Zuckerberg begged for more government regulation.

“It goes without saying that I support government regulation of social media platforms,” Soros said in a letter to Financial Times published Tuesday, but added that Zuckerberg does not need government regulation to stop accepting all political advertising until after the November 2020 US election.

Facebook is unlikely to do so, the Paris-based oligarch wrote, accusing Zuckerberg of being “engaged in some kind of mutual assistance arrangement with Donald Trump that will help him to get re-elected” and repeating his demand for him and his COO Sheryl Sandberg to be “removed from control of Facebook.”

Soros’s angry missive was a response to Zuckerberg’s op-ed published the day before, in which the hapless head of the Menlo Park behemoth pleaded for some kind of government regulation that would establish clear lines on matters that “touch on fundamental democratic values” such as “elections” and “harmful content,” among others.

“I believe clearer rules would be better for everyone,” Zuckerberg wrote, apparently irritated by the stream of ever-shifting objections from parties and individuals who blame Facebook for losing elections and referenda they believed were rightfully theirs to win – the 2016 US presidential contest and Brexit, to name but two.

One of the most outspoken critics of Facebook has been Soros, the grey eminence of global ‘liberal’ causes, who first accused Zuckerberg of collusion with Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos last month. He followed that with a blistering New York Times op-ed at the end of January, demanding the exit of Zuckerberg and Sandberg “one way or another.”

Facebook’s rejection of Soros’s assertions as “just plain wrong” and unsubstantiated by evidence has obviously not deterred the ‘Open Society’ magnate from stating them again, and again, as evidenced by the op-eds and letters that keep coming.

Once celebrated by Democrats in the US – whom Soros is lavishly funding – for helping Barack Obama get elected, Facebook ended up in the doghouse after the 2016 election. Soros famously denounced it and other social media as a “menace” to society whose “days are numbered,” in a January 2018 speech in Davos.

Facebook responded by paying a PR firm to investigate Soros, something Sandberg admitted to in November 2018 – which may explain his ongoing vendetta against her.

Four people killed in horror Melbourne plane crash

Four people have died after two planes collided mid-air before crashing into a paddock in Melbourne's north this morning.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the scene at 11.30am following reports of two separate aircraft crashes.

Police confirmed the two occupants in each aircraft died at the scene.

The four people are yet to be identified.

The crash site is about seven kilometres south from the flight training school at Mangalore, near Seymour.

Aerial images of the scene taken from the 9News helicopter show debris from the two planes scattered across grassland.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) confirmed to 9News one plane was a Piper-Seminole aircraft, operated by flying school Moorabbin Aviation Services.

The second plane was a Beechcraft Travel Air.

One plane went down in a defence force explosives zone.

Victoria Police Leading Senior Constable Kendra Jackson said the Australian Transport Safety Bureau had been notified.

"Police are currently investigating and will prepare a report for the Coroner," she said.

All southbound lanes on the Hume Freeway have been closed as a result of the accident.
