A guy I know travels with firearms (competitive shooter) and he's always surprised when at the airport the folks providing a tag say 'oh, your carrying weapons' and he corrects them by stating 'It's a firearm. How you use it determines IF it's a weapon.'
I think time will tell if they had INTENT to release it, if it was a mistake, or whatever. If there was intent, then it's a weapon.
Maybe this is a distinction without much difference. Time will tell.
