I've taken it in this context to mean that these people edge their very lives (on edge of death) in order to eject the spirit and/or soul to freely roam, Astral Project, take up residence in another bio-suit. Why "911"? Letters "ik"…"k" look like an "i" stepping out of himself. ER/Emergency Room you may have a near-death-experience (NDE) causing an out-of-body experience ("emerge n see"). Movie like Flatliners, Abyss, Avatar, etc showing us that tech is set up to systematically sustain Quantum Leaping of this sort? I sure think so.
