I haven't really thought out the propulsion mechanism, but as far as the ship, imagine vid-related using mercury, a series of electromagnetic charges and a well-timed program on a linux kernel telling the mercury which way to flow. You would essentially be creating a constant state of inertia countering the pull of gravity. So you can understand easily the "anti-gravity" portion is simple, it's the acceleration I'm a bit stumped at.
