Chris Roberts, the boy wonder politician who was elected to office at age 21 and served two decades on the Jefferson Parish School Board and Parish Council before abruptly resigning last week, was indicted Thursday (May 9) on charges of tax evasion and wire fraud. The federal government is seeking a forfeiture of at least $53,624 as part of the criminal prosecution, but Roberts’ attorney, Eddie Castaing Jr., said none of the charges relates to public service.
