Some suggest that Burisma is actually owned by banker Kolomoisky who blew through $1.8 billion in 9 months in aid in a maze of offshore accounts. Kolomoisky was placed on the US’s visa ban list but then was soon lifted.

Archer in 2018 was found guilty in a scheme to defraud Native Americans but his guilty plea was later overturned.

The month before Biden’s last trip to the Ukraine, all investigations of Burisma were closed. On Biden’s last day in office, Burisma and the Democrat connected Atlantic Council signed cooperation agreements.

Russian warplanes repel attack on Syrian army in Idlib as militants launch offensive aided by Turkish artillery — Moscow

The Russian Defense Ministry says its Air Force launched strikes to repel a militant offensive against the Syrian Army in Idlib, which had sought to breach the government forces’ defensive lines with Turkey’s backing.

The militants launched a “massive offensive” southeast of the city of Idlib, using many armored vehicles, the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria said on Thursday, adding that it was Turkish artillery that helped them breach the Syrian Army’s defenses in some areas.

Aerial footage published by the Russian Defense Ministry shows a Turkish self-propelled howitzer battery shelling the Syrian Army positions.

The Turkish forces stopped the artillery barrage after Moscow contacted Ankara.The Reconciliation Center also said that the Turkish shelling left four Syrian soldiers injured. Moscow also once again called on Ankara to cease its support for terrorists in Idlib, and stop handing over weapons to them.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said that two Turkish soldiers were killed and five others injured in the air strikes.

Peter Schiff: Printing Money Is Not The Cure For Cononavirus

In his most recent podcast, Peter Schiff talked about coronavirus and the impact that it is having on the markets.

Earlier this month, Peter said he thought the virus was just an excuse for stock market woes. At the time he believed the market was poised to fall anyway. But as it turns out, coronavirus has actually helped the US stock market because it has led central banks to pump even more liquidity into the world financial system.

All this means more liquidity - central banks easing. In fact, that is exactly what has already happened, except the new easing is taking place, for now, outside the United States, particularly in China.”

Although the new money is primarily being created in China, it is flowing into dollars — the dollar index is up — and into US stocks. Last week, US stock markets once again made all-time record highs.

In fact, I think but for the coronavirus, the US stock market would still be selling off. But because of the central bank stimulus that has been the result of fears over the coronavirus, that actually benefitted not only the US dollar, but the US stock market.”

In the midst of all this, Peter raises a really good question.

The primary economic concern is that coronavirus will slow down output and ultimately stunt economic growth. Practically speaking, the world would produce less stuff. If the virus continues to spread, there would be fewer goods and services produced in a market that is hunkered down.

Why would the Federal Reserve respond, or why would any central bank respond to that by printing money? How does printing more money solve that problem? It doesn’t. In fact, it actually exacerbates it. But you know, everybody looks and central bankers as if they’ve got the solution to every problem. They don’t. They don’t have the magic wand. They just have a printing press. And all that creates is inflation.”

Sometimes the illusion inflation creates can look like a magic wand. Printing money can paper over problems. But none of this is going to fundamentally fix the economy.

In fact, if central bankers were really going to do the right thing, the appropriate response would be to drain liquidity from the markets, not supply even more.”

Peter explained how the Fed was originally intended to create an “elastic” money supply that would expand or contract along with economic output. Today, the money supply only goes in one direction — that’s up.

The economy is strong, print money. The economy is weak, print even more money.”

Of course, the asset that’s doing the best right now is gold. The yellow metal pushed above $1,600 yesterday. Gold is up 5.5% on the year in dollar terms and has set record highs in other currencies.

Because gold is rising even in an environment where the dollar is strengthening against other fiat currencies, that shows you that there is an underlying weakness in the dollar that is right now not being reflected in the Forex markets, but is being reflected in the gold markets. Because after all, why are people buying gold more aggressively than they’re buying dollars or more aggressively than they’re buying US Treasuries? Because they know that things are not as good for the dollar or the US economy as everybody likes to believe. So, more people are seeking out refuge in a better safe-haven and that is gold.”

Epstein Mentor Les Wexner Leaves L Brands, Sells 55% Stake In Victoria's Secret For $525 Million

Les Wexner is stepping down as chairman and CEO of L Brands as the company prepares to sell a 55% stake in its flagship brand, Victoria's Secret, to private equity firm Sycamore Partners for $525 million, according to a pair of reports from Bloomberg and WSJ.

Last month, we reported that Wexner, a longtime friend, benefactor and mentor to financier pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was preparing to sell the company that he essentially built and led for decades.

Sources familiar with the talks told WSJ at the time that a full or partial sale of Victoria’s Secret was expected, as the company was finally giving up on turning around the struggling lingerie brand.

WSJ described the decision to give up control of Victoria's Secret was an acknowledgement that 82-year-old billionaire Wexner "couldn't revei the fortunes of a troubled lingerie brand he had built around shopping malls and sex appeal.

Three other L Brands board members will step down along with Wexner, though Abigail's will remain on the board. A successor has already been chosen, per WSJ.

In an internal memo to staff, Mr. Wexner shared news of the deal and his departure. “I’ve thought about where I fit in the picture,” he wrote in the email. “In keeping with this same thoughtful examination, I have decided that now is the right time to pass the reins to new leadership.”

L Brands said it had promoted one of its longtime executives, Andrew Meslow, to take over as chief executive and be added to the board when the Sycamore deal closes. Mr. Meslow, who joined the company in 2003, is chief operating officer of its Bath & Body Works chain.

Three longtime board members, including L Brand’s lead independent director, will step down at the next annual meeting. Two other directors left last year amid pressure from an activist investor. Mr. Wexner, who owns a 17% stake, and his wife Abigail will keep seats on the board.

The deal will spin off VS as a separate company with a valuation worth $1.1 billion, just a fraction of the $34 billion valuation for Lululemon Athletica and other rivals.

After pouring millions into Virginia elections, gun control group sets sights on Texas

'I would say anyone running for office in Texas should look to Virginia'

A gun control group co-founded by 2020 presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced a multimillion-dollar effort to support anti-gun candidates in Texas.

In a news release issued on Wednesday, anti-gun organization Everytown for Gun Safety said that it planned to spend $8 million in an electoral effort focused on state legislature and congressional races as well as "educating the voting electorate in order to make Texas competitive at the statewide level."

According to a corresponding memo about its plans for the Lone Star State, the group plans to put resources into 27 different House district races either trying to oust "gun lobby-backed candidates" or re-elect pro-gun control candidates, with a big focus on the Dallas and Houston suburbs. The memo also claims that the state House is "just nine seats short" of a pro-gun control majority.

On the federal level, the memo also says that the group will put efforts into trying to flip control of seats currently held by GOP Reps. Michael McCaul, John Carter, Dan Crenshaw, and Chip Roy, as well as three House seats currently held by Republicans who are retiring. The group also plans to defend two Democratic seats held by Reps. Lizzie Fletcher and Collin Allred.

"Gun safety has become a top issue for voters — especially in the suburbs — as Texas becomes younger and more diverse, and after years of horrific gun violence and lawmakers who fail to address it," a statement from Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action, which is a part of Everytown, says. "That's why we'll focus on electing gun sense candidates up and down the ballot in Texas, where a majority of households own guns, because polling proves gun owning and non-gun owning parents alike want their children to keep their kids safe."

The group also notes that the $8 million Texas spending spree will be just part of its overall $60 million investment in the 2020 election cycle.

This isn't Everytown's first attempt to flip control of a state legislature. The gun control group took a victory lap over the results of Virginia's statewide elections in November after spending over $2.5 million on those races and capitalizing on a shooting that took place in the state earlier that year. Those elections saw the control of the general shift from Republican to Democrat and paved the way for the current Democrat-let gun control efforts going on in Richmond.

"I would say anyone running for office in Texas should look to Virginia," Watts said in a story by the Houston Chronicle. "Six months after a shooting in Virginia Beach, all of the elected officials who refused gun sense were voted out of office."

While the group was co-founded by Bloomberg, Watts said on a Wednesday call that Everytown was "totally separate" from his 2020 presidential campaign, according to CNN.

"Mike and I founded Everytown together. He's a critical part of the movement," Watts said. "But as the movement has grown, so has our organization and our funding. Mike has consistently provided between a quarter and a third of our funding, depending on the cycle. In 2019, he provided about 25% of our contribution. But our grassroots engagement has grown in leaps and bounds."

‘Death dividend’: British arms maker BAE Systems blasted on Twitter after announcing big sales growth for ‘good year’ 2019

Britain’s biggest arms manufacturer, BAE Systems, has come under a hail of fire on social media after proudly announcing the “greatest increase” in dividend profits in eight years as part of their 2019 financial results.

BAE Systems tweeted a video on Thursday in which their chief executive Charles Woodburn gleefully revealed that 2019 had been a “good year” for the world’s fourth largest defense company.

We grew sales by 7 percent and that enabled us to grow our dividend by 4.5 percent, which is the greatest increase we've had in dividend in the past eight years.

The British arms firm, an integral supplier of weapons to countries such as the UK, US and Saudi Arabia, say work on F-35 fighter jets and its Qatar Typhoon contract will help boost sales even further by 2021.

BAE’s announcement triggered an avalanche of criticism on Twitter, with many commenters hammering the company for its boastful theme and questioning whether providing bombs that have led to deaths around the world should be something to be proud about.

One person simply tweeted: "Death dividend," while another sarcastically wrote: "So glad killing people has brought you a nice dividend."

Mark Curtis, a journalist who specializes in UK foreign policy, hit out at what he sees as BAE’s war profiteering, saying that he hoped one day such companies will be consigned to history, but until then “we have to put up with men in suits pretending it's all perfectly acceptable.”

The New York Times Publishes Op-Ed From Taliban Leader

The New York Times published an op-ed Thursday from a leader of the Taliban, one of the world’s largest terrorist organizations.

The op-ed from Sirajuddin Haqqani was titled “What We, the Taliban Want,” and attempted to explain what the Taliban was looking for in its negotiations with the U.S.

Haqqani attempted to respond to concerns that the Taliban would once again host terrorist groups like Al-Qaida if the U.S. were to leave Afghanistan.

“It is not in the interest of any Afghan to allow such groups to hijack our country and turn it into a battleground,” he wrote. “We have already suffered enough from foreign interventions.”

The Times was criticized by some on social media Tuesday for publishing an op-ed from a leader of one of the world’s largest terrorist organizations.

Bosnian Minister Warns 100,000 Migrants Heading For European Union in Coming Weeks

Bosnian security minister Fahrudin Radoncic has claimed that as many as 100,000 migrants could be heading from Greece to Western Europe in the coming weeks.

Radonic stated that the Bosnian border would be unable to handle a wave of migrants stating, “Our border is very permeable. We don’t have enough [guards] or material resources.”

The Bosnian minister went on to add that the situation in the migrant camps within Bosnia is becoming worse by the day as the already overcrowded camps receive even more migrants, Austrian tabloid Kronen Zeitung reports.

“We are missing at least 1,200 border guards. In practice, it currently looks like a police officer has to monitor 25 kilometres of the border. That is impossible!” he said.

The Vucjak migrant camp, located near the Croatian border, was slammed by various groups for its harsh conditions and was cleared in December when the Bosnian government transferred the migrants to another area near Sarajevo.

Prior to the evacuation of the camp, NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) labelled the camp a “dangerous and inhumane place”.

Peter Ven der Auweraert, a regional coordinator for International Organization for Migration (IOM), also made similar predictions to Minister Radonic in December, stating that when the weather in the area improves, “some people will start moving”.

“The reality is, as you know, that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a pure transit country,” he said.

In Greece, where most of the migrants that travel the Balkan route first enter Europe, the government also forecast a surge in new arrivals.

Manos Logothetis, the government commissioner for the initial reception of refugees, predicted that Greece could see as many as 100,000 new migrants in 2020.

Other areas of the Balkan route have also seen increased activity, such as the border between Serbia and Hungary where, in January alone, 3,400 migrants have made attempts to cross the fortified border fence.

Exclusive: Details of 10.6 million MGM hotel guests posted on a hacking forum

MGM Resorts said security incident took place last summer and notified impacted guests last year.

The personal details of more than 10.6 million users who stayed at MGM Resorts hotels have been published on a hacking forum this week.

Besides details for regular tourists and travelers, included in the leaked files are also personal and contact details for celebrities, tech CEOs, reporters, government officials, and employees at some of the world's largest tech companies.

ZDNet verified the authenticity of the data today, together with a security researcher from Under the Breach, a soon-to-be-launched data breach monitoring service.

A spokesperson for MGM Resorts confirmed the incident via email.

What was exposed

According to our analysis, the MGM data dump that was shared today contains personal details for 10,683,188 former hotel guests.

Included in the leaked files are personal details such as full names, home addresses, phone numbers, emails, and dates of birth.

ZDNet reached out to past guests and confirmed they stayed at the hotel, along with their timeline, and the accuracy of the data included in the leaked files.

We got confirmation from international business travelers, reporters attending tech conferences, CEOs attending business meetings, and government officials traveling to Las Vegas branches.

MGM Resorts says they notified customers last year

Once we verified the data, ZDNet also reached out to MGM Resorts.

Within an hour after we reached out to the company, we were in a conference call with the hotel chain's security team. Within hours, the MGM Resorts team was able to verify the data and track it to a past security incident.

An MGM spokesperson told ZDNet the data that was shared online this week stems from a security incident that took place last year.

"Last summer, we discovered unauthorized access to a cloud server that contained a limited amount of information for certain previous guests of MGM Resorts," MGM told ZDNet.

"We are confident that no financial, payment card or password data was involved in this matter."

French Authorities Concerned over Upcoming Release of 148 Jihadists

French law enforcement officials and intelligence agencies have expressed concern over the expected release of at least 148 radical Islamic extremists by the end of 2022.

The jihadists were described as “very dangerous individuals” by National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor (PNAT) Jean-François Ricard during a recent parliamentary committee, with 45 terrorism convicts set to be released by the end of this year alone.

The French internal intelligence agency, the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI), has also expressed similar fears calling the release of the terror convicts a “major concern”, Le Journal du Dimanche reports.

Officials added that the release of the jihadists has become an even bigger concern for them than returning Islamic State fighters travelling back to France from the Middle East.

Both law enforcement and the intelligence agencies say that the level of radicalisation among those set to be released has not been sufficiently measured and that the problem of Islamic radicalisation in French prisons continues to grow.

Some inmates, such as Bilal Taghi who was sentenced to 28 years for attempting to murder two prison supervisors in 2016, is said to have claimed he has given up on radical Islamic ideas, which authorities believe to be a lie.

Republican member of parliament Eric Ciotti has tabled legislation that is to be debated in May in order to combat the issue of security with jihadists set for release by granting powers to the government to keep them in prison if they are deemed a serious security threat.

In the UK, jihadists released from prison have been responsible for two terror attacks in recent months in London.

Sudesh Amman, 20, who wounded two people in Streatham, London, was released from prison after serving just half of a three-year sentence.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has proposed scrapping automatic early release in terrorism cases, with a poll showing overwhelming support from the British public for the measure.

Mexican Border State Authorities Expect Backlash After $24M Coke Bust

MONTERREY, Nuevo Leon – Authorities are on alert for fresh murders or kidnappings following the seizure of approximately 661 pounds of uncut cocaine. While the drugs have a local value of $3 million, the price in the U.S. could have reached $24 million.

The seizure took place this week in the town of General Bravo, a halfway point between Monterrey and the border city of Reynosa. According to Mexico’s Federal Police, authorities found the drugs hidden in a false wall in a tractor-trailer. The bricks were intended for Reynosa, a stronghold for the Gulf Cartel.

The seizure took place at a checkpoint where agents also arrested the truck driver named Angel Javier “N,” who claimed he was headed to Reynosa. He faces drug trafficking charges.

Law enforcement sources in both Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas revealed to Breitbart Texas that in the past, seizures of cocaine in large amounts routinely are followed by some sort of violent backlash impacting the parties who were responsible for getting the load delivered.

The border city of Reynosa is a hotspot of violence as rival factions of the Gulf Cartel grapple for drug and human smuggling routes into Texas.

So that no misunderstandings arise here: It is absolutely advisable to distrust China and its state-controlled hackers. But in reality there is something completely different.

FORGOTTEN REVELATIONS, BRAND NEW

This “intelligence information” is actually surprisingly trivial: it is no surprise that a country’s largest network supplier works with the country’s secret services. The opposite would be. In the United States, the NSA has its accounting and surveillance centers equipped with hardware by US manufacturers, why should China do it differently?

Snowden documents show that there are cooperative links between the major server manufacturers in the USA and the NSA secret service. US companies have long been leaders in physical network routers for wired Internet: Cisco, Juniper Networks, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. The issue of 5G, however, has apparently overslept both US companies and Europeans. And nobody knows better than US intelligence that technology issues are always power issues.

One of the apparently forgotten NSA revelations from 2013 to 2015 is the fact that the NSA Tailored Access Operations unit had a whole catalog with “implants” for the then common servers, router and hardware firewalls on offer – also for US products. Back then, we prepared the catalog extensively, so why not take a look at it?

A method to convert professional telecommunications products almost ex works for NSA purposes is as follows: Before the server or router goes to the end customer, for example a telecommunications company in another country, the delivery is intercepted. Also, the idea that a president shouldn’t be involved in these decisions is anti-constitutional. The excecutive power — all of it — is vested in the president by Article II of the Constitution. The rules of custom and etiquette that have grown up to the effect that presidents should stay at arms length may be a good idea — or not — but they have nothing to do with the Constitution and to the extent they purport to limit the president are actually in contradiction to the constitution.

In the same post, I predicted that UK negotiating head in the EU trade negotiations David Frost would deliver an aggressive speech in Brussels Tuesday night. Indeed he did….but alone among the MSM, the Times blanked it. The Times blanked it because the Times wants Dom Cummings to fail and begone.

Instead, the Newscorp flagship chose to lead with ‘Boris Johnson is at odds with his senior Downing Street advisers, including Dominic Cummings, over plans to scrap the BBC licence fee’ and give a preposterous OpEd to Rachel Sylvester entitled ‘Cummings is the Marxist in Ten Downing Street’.

This isn’t “news” we’re looking at here: it is two élites in a corporacratic State battling for power….in which the Truth comes a very poor last.

For now that the BBC’s top executive is to leave – and the ‘end of the licence fee’ has been leaked by (Guess who? The Times) – Newscorp and the male Murdoch succession have been quietly lobbying for Rebekah Brooks (currently their CEO) to get the job….and, in advance, to bounce both Baroness Morgan and Boris Johnson into a subscription model owned in all but name by the Murdoch Empire of Evil.

Dominic Cummings wanted Murdoch’s estranged daughter Liz to get the post – an idea that Prime Minister Boris Johnson also favoured. BoJo in turn thinks the licence fee should be retained, Cummings thinks it should be ditched. Neither man is about to fall out over the issue: the issue is about reform, not funding. Needless to say, Nicky the Brainless Baroness Morgan has an open mind….which is one way of describing the uninterrupted borehole between her ears.

But Newscorp’s Times is very much in the business of creating turbulence at Number Ten…with the Cummings head rolling off into a historical footnote.

Global Crop Failures Continue: In Australia This Is Going To Be The WORST HARVEST Ever Recorded

Global food production is being hit from seemingly every side. Thanks to absolutely crazy weather patterns, giant locust armies in Africa and the Middle East, and an unprecedented outbreak of African Swine Fever in China, a lot less food is being produced around the world than originally anticipated. Australia’s hottest and driest year on record has slashed crop production, with summer output expected to fall to the lowest levels on record, according to official projections released Tuesday.

The country’s agriculture department said it expects production of crops like sorghum, cotton and rice to fall 66 percent — the lowest levels since records began in 1980-81.

The continent of Australia is considered to be one of the breadbaskets of the world. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in 2018/19 Australia exported over 9 million tons of wheat to the rest of the world.

But thanks to relentless crop failures, Australia has started to import wheat, and that is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.

So instead of helping to feed the rest of the world, Australia is now relying on the rest of us to help feed them.

And what is happening this year didn’t just barely break the old records. In fact, one senior economist says that this will be the worst summer crop production the country has ever seen “by a large margin”…

“It is the lowest summer crop production in this period by a large margin,” Peter Collins, a senior economist with the department’s statistical body ABARES told AFP.

Of course if the rest of the world was doing great we could certainly survive a downturn in Australia.

Unfortunately, that is definitely not the case.

Right now, billions upon billions of locusts are voraciously devouring farms in eastern Africa and the Middle East. As I detailed the other day, giant armies of locusts the size of large cities are traveling up to 100 miles per day as they search for food. When they descend on a farm, all the crops can be consumed literally within 30 seconds. Vatican Police Raid Top Cleric’s Home, Office Over London Property Scam

VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - Vatican investigators raided the office and residence of the investment manager of the Vatican Secretariat of State Tuesday morning and seized documents and computer equipment as part of its ongoing probe into the financial scandal involving the purchase of a London property worth $220 million.

According to a press release from the Vatican press office, the search was ordered by Promoter of Justice Gian Piero Milano and Deputy Alessandro Diddi on the premises of Msgr. Alberto Perlasca, former Head of Administrative Office of the First Section of the Secretariat of State.

Perlasca headed the office responsible for managing Vatican investments and for overseeing the administration of the Peter's Pence fund. On July 26, Pope Francis appointed him Promoter of Justice at the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura — chief prosecutor of the Vatican's supreme court.

The Vatican statement confirmed that the raid was carried out "in the context of the investigation into financial investments and the work of the Secretariat of State."

The raid on Perlasca's home and office was in connection with "what emerged from the first interrogations" of five suspended officials, the statement said. Similar raids in October resulted in the suspension of four staff at the Secretariat of State as well as the director of the Financial Information Authority.

Two of the four suspended officials at the Secretariat of State were registered directors of a London holding company controlled by the secretariat.

Church Militant reported on the financial scandal involving a deal made by the Secretariat of State to purchase a 183,000-square-foot property in London consisting of a former warehouse belonging to the Harrod's department store slated for conversion into luxury apartments.
