This is something that really gives me the red-ass. Our culture is infected with this stupid idea that you need a post-grad education just to handle cleaning a toilet, and I suspect Tavistock & company are behind it. And even more disgusting is the fact that people have bought into the idea to the point where they're now incapable of learning shit just because they've been told they're incapable of learning shit without "training." The ultimate learned helplessness, which was, of course, the plan all along.

Was choked to the gills with CP and other sketchiness, but that was only a side-effect of its strengths. Read the RFCs defining usenet, and you'll see a perfect model of the internet as it should've stayed–a totally anonymous p2p communication system. So much important stuff going on in there.

Unfortunately, the "archives" of it were swallowed up by Google early on. Funny, that. There are still real UUCP servers out there though, and with an account on one of those and newsreader software you're in without Google's "help."
