There's a guy out there, names slips my mind atm, who was rumored to be going to the EU. A real EU-Phobe and with the skills to take down the EU apparatus. Had the EU going bullshit at the time, thinking he'd be appointed.

I'd look for this guy to be placed as ambassador in an acting capacity. Won't need congressional approval if acting, AFAIK

Just remembered, Ted Malloch.

Other consideration is, Grenell, as DNI head, will be read in at a higher classification than an ambassador. That will add some heft to the potshots he takes at German bureaucrats. Bullshit deterrence was just upgraded.

What many do is take graduate degree courses for school administration. Teaching is just a stepping stone. Education credentials are what school districts look for.

Back in the day veteran teachers with good PR skills and and a reputation for good decision making would move into those positions. Best administrators, in my experience, were former coaches. They can see conflict as a type of competition and manage it from a referee's perspective.
