FORMALLY TARGETED
former ally-targeted
targeted by former ally
Was China ever even an ally?
Not that I know.
But we played friendly and did the trade negotiations in an apparently amicable manner.
But clearly the economic targeting of farmers was/is by China.
POTUS in his speech last night re-emphasized that he asked Sec Ag Sonny Purdue how much our farmers were being hurt and Purdue said $18 billion. POTUS says at the last minute as the Chinese delegation is about to cave, then demand $50 billion (!) and this is what occurred and the Chinese caved and agreed to this demand.
So what very strong leverage was used to compel China to submit to this very large economic demand? Not large in the context of how much China has ripped off the USA over the years, but extraordinary in the context of a negotiation where the amount needed to make American farmers whole was $18B and POTUS suddenly shifts and demands $50B and gets his wish met.
Anons think about leverage over China.
We always used to say that China had leverage over the US because if they started selling US treasuries that had been massively accumulated due to the trade imbalance, China could crash our economy easily.
That did not habben.
So what is it? What is the hidden leverage that we're not seeing?
