Having grown up around theatre and arts people, I have nothing against gays living their truth. Where I do have a problem is the relatively high percentage of this population I have personally observed who actively attempt to seduce young people into the lifestyle.
They say they are simply helping these young people discover who they really are. I say these older predators are sick and need to be treated as pedophiles.
Homo or hetero, leave the young ones alone!
Facts are facts.
"Truth" unfortunately is subjective. Who just told the truth? Depends upon your interpretation of the "facts" as a person sees them though life experience and prior learning.
I struggled with moral relativism in my youth, but now have very strong moral convictions that I impose on myself and look to find in friends and colleagues. (I don't try to impose my moral code on others, but seek like minded people as friends.)
I am also not progressive, but I am open to learn about others' views of their truths, will evaluate, and either incorporate their ideas with my own or reject their ideas outright.
If truth were universal we wouldn't be in the fight for the hearts and minds of the liberal masses we now find ourselves in the midst of.
