On the one hand, I see the messages as a form of gaslighting on a subliminal level. People know unconsciously that something is wrong, but have nothing tangible to point to. It creates a state of chronic anxiety, making people very easily manipulated.
On the other hand, it could be about putting ideas in our heads to actually create reality.
