Bet the goal was to get into Kenya and be allowed to live out his life, which likely why there were meetings. Still wondering about Tillerson(RT?) and Kenya meetings. Exile in Kenya better than death, with money likely already stashed. Only thing admitting Kenya birth would do is change the charges. They exist but do not have to been unsealed. Some of them may be under an agreement whereby they stay sealed unless someone does not follow the plan. Would not suprise me if some of our resigning "leaders" are playing ball..like signing the omnibus because they are trying to save their asses.
