The question mark in a URL marks the place where the parameters start. Lots of times the parameters are not necessary but they contain user information so that the web host can track the clicks.
Delete everything from the question mark to the end before posting a URL. If unsure, cut and paste the modified URL in a new tab to make sure it works.
If somebody pastes a URL with a parameter string, remove that string before trying it.
