The Australian newspapers have been salivating over the story of the father who killed his family for nearly a week. Front page news every day. Multiple stories on all the news websites. Even today, almost a week later, there are 3 stories on news.com.au.

Nothing seems to be able to wipe it off the front page. Doesn't matter that it's a tiny minority of men - let's tar them all with it because that will be healthy for society. Never mind that men are the victims of homicide at more than 3x the rate of women and men are 30x more likely to die acting in defence of their country - we should make it seem like all men are just a couple of beers away from killing their spouses and children. Fucking brilliant.
