'Feel the burn': Bloomberg campaign tweets in Russian amid news the country is attempting to help Bernie Sanders

The Bloomberg campaign revved up its attack on Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on social media. Sanders told reporters on Friday that he learned about Russia's activity approximately one month ago before U.S. officials briefed House congressional leaders on the country's intent to interfere in the 2020 elections. "How do you think it came out now if you had the briefing a month ago?" one reporter asked. "Well, I'll let you guess about one day before the Nevada caucus," Sanders responded, adding, "Why do you think it came out?"

The Sanders campaign released a statement about the news on Friday: “Unlike Donald Trump, I do not consider Vladimir Putin a good friend. He is an autocratic thug who is attempting to destroy democracy and crush dissent in Russia. Let’s be clear, the Russians want to undermine American democracy by dividing us up and, unlike the current president, I stand firmly against their efforts, and any other foreign power that wants to interfere in our election." “I don't care, frankly, who Putin wants to be president. My message to Putin is clear: stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do," the campaign said.

Klobuchar had MSNBC's Chuck Todd as a landlord

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar was the one-time tenant of MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd about a decade ago. Klobuchar, who was elected to the Senate for the first time in 2006, rented a home in Arlington, Virginia, which she no longer lives in, according to a member of the senator's staff. The home was owned by Todd, the New York Post reported Thursday evening.

A member of Klobuchar's senate office revealed to the Washington Examiner that Klobuchar and her husband "rented the house in Arlington" for their "first few years in Washington," in reference to the Post's report. Klobuchar and her husband, lawyer John Bessler, have since moved into an apartment in Washington, D.C., and haven't resided in the Todd-owned property for years.

The senator from Minnesota participated in Wednesday's ninth presidential debate, which was hosted by MSNBC and NBC News. Todd was one of the four moderators and Klobuchar one of the six candidates who qualified to participate. Todd also moderated the first presidential debate of this election cycle, in June, where she was one of 20 candidates to participate in the two-night event. The candidate, moderator, and MSNBC did not disclose this aspect of their past relationship prior to either debate.
